  • date, time and general interaction information; and
  • cookie identifiers and information needed to operate, secure and measure the website.

We do not ask visitors to create an account, and we do not intentionally collect payment-card information through Choicelyt.

3. How we use information

We may use information to:

  • operate, maintain and secure the website;

4. Google Analytics and Site Kit

Choicelyt uses Google Site Kit and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and may process information such as page visits, device details, approximate location and interaction data. Google may process this information on our behalf under its own terms and privacy documentation. Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses, although our hosting and security services may still process them, as described above.

You can learn more through Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics privacy information. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. For a plain-language explanation of what happens when a site uses Google services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored by a browser. Choicelyt and its service providers may use:

  • essential cookies needed for security or basic website operation;
  • analytics cookies used to measure visits and improve the website; and
  • advertising cookies if advertising services are enabled in the future.

You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings. Doing so may affect some website features. Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we will provide a consent control for those technologies.

6. Advertising

Choicelyt may use third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense, to display advertisements on the website.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's previous visits to Choicelyt or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to visitors based on their visit to Choicelyt and/or other sites on the internet.

Visitors can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Visitors can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Additional choices may be available through consent controls displayed on Choicelyt where required. If we add advertising vendors other than Google, we will identify them in this section.

Advertising does not determine Choicelyt's editorial conclusions, career comparisons or recommendations. Sponsored or commercial content, if introduced, will be identified separately from independent editorial content.

7. How information may be shared

We do not sell personal information for money. Information may be disclosed:

  • to hosting, analytics, security, email and other service providers that help operate Choicelyt;
  • when you ask us to do so or give permission;
  • when reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect users, enforce terms or defend legal rights;
  • when required by law, regulation, court order or another valid legal process; or
  • as part of a merger, transfer, restructuring or sale of the website, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Third-party providers may process information in countries different from your own. Their processing is also governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

8. Data retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to correspondence, maintaining security, resolving disputes and satisfying legal requirements. Analytics retention is also affected by the settings and policies of the analytics provider. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.

9. Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of or restriction on certain personal information. You may also have a right to object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or receive information in a portable format.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Rights may be limited by applicable law and legitimate recordkeeping requirements.

You may also manage cookies through your browser, use Google's analytics opt-out tool, or use any consent controls displayed on the website.

U.S. residents. Residents of some U.S. states, including California, may have rights to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or of targeted advertising, as those terms are defined by each state's law. We do not sell personal information for money. To the extent advertising cookies count as targeted advertising or sharing under a state law, you can use the choices described in the Advertising section above. You can send a request to the email address in the Contact section.
